Nageshwar was believed to be known as ‘Darukavana’, which is an ancient epic name of a forest in India. Below is a well-known legends attached to this mystical temple . The  Somnath temple  located in Prabhas Patan near Junagadh in Saurashtra on the western coast of Gujarat . It is an important pilgrimage and tourist spot of Gujarat. Somnath temple is the first among the 12 jothirlingams . In the Somnath mandir the main deity is the huge lingam well decorated with chandan and kumkum with his consort Goddess Parvathi backside of the lingam , Lord Ganesha and Lord Murugar on both sides .
